The scholarship endowment is invested in seven National Covenant Properties certificates totaling over $30,000. This year was only the second withdrawal of interest earned from NCP to pay scholarships. The withdrawal was less than the interest earned in 1999.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS: The chairman of the nominating committee presented the following ballot:

President: Kerm Paulsen Financial sec: Dick Lundberg Vice President: Bud Olson Secretary: John Tissell Treasurer: John Prouty

Nominations were opened to the floor. Motion made, seconded and carried that the secretary cast an unanimous ballot for the nominees.  An open discussion was held seeking direction for the future of Covenant Men. Some points raised are as follows:

  1. A list of available speakers for local (church) Covenant Men groups
  2. Need to do more to publicize the fund drive for the log cabin at Cascades underwritten by Covenant Men.
  3. A pilot is seeking financial support in order to serve at MARC (Missionary Aviation Repair Center at Soldotna, AK).
  4. Sponsor a workshop for men interested in men's ministries.
  5. Work at local churches. Interbay needs help to bring their "warehouse" up to fire code. It was noted that major projects such as this require carefully developed plans and building permits.
  6. Can Covenant Men develop an web page? Also to distribute minutes and other announcements, e-mail addresses are needed. Most e-mail addresses included on the registrations are not legible.

Attendance at the retreat: 142 registered from 31 different churches. Pine Lake Covenant had the highest registration with 35 men attending. Second was Sunset Covenant with 16 attendees and followed closely by Midway with 11 and West Hills with 10.

The meeting was closed with prayer.

John R. Tissell, Secretary
