Present: Kerm Paulsen, John Prouty, Harold Ulfers, Bud Olson, Jeff Wolf, Carl Hultquist, Jim Neary, Dick Lundberg, Dale Beasley and John Tissell.

The meeting opened with Bud Olson reading selected verses from chapters 3 and 4 of Philippians. Several of those present followed with prayer.

FALL RETREAT DISCUSSION: Bud Palmberg has agreed to speak at the retreat. Kerm will contact him regarding his subject and also get "bio" information for the brochure. With the web site operational, it is important that as much information as possible be posted quickly.

ALASKA: John Tissell and Kerm Paulsen will be leaving March 19 for Bethel. Jim Hodges of Hard Hats for Christ and a helper will be in Bethel February 9 through the 17th.

CONFERENCE PROJECTS: We haven't heard of any projects ready for our assistance in the Conference.

SCHOLARSHIPS: Scholarships for the 2000-2001 school year were authorized in the amount of $500 each. The four students at the seminary from the North Pacific Conference are: Andrew Thompson, Christopher Field, Leonid Regheta and Matthew Dyment.

CASCADES CAMP AND CONFERENCE CENTER: We need to promote the log cabin fund. Six cabins are scheduled for completion by fall.

CONFERENCE ANNUAL MEETING: The business meeting will be April 28 at Valley Covenant, Eugene, OR. Henry Greenidge was suggested as speaker at the men's breakfast. Kerm will contact him. Kerm P. and John T. were appointed delegates to the business meeting.

OTHER ITEMS: Minutes will be distributed via e-mail to anyone who requests a copy and furnishes Covenant Men with their e-mail address. Several men wrote their e-mail addresses on their registration for the 2000 fall retreat, but nearly all were illegible.

A copy of the goals of Covenant Men, written sometime in the 1960's was read.  We need to review and update the goals and place them on the web page.  

Concern was expressed that most churches do not have a Covenant Men's representative.  All agreed that representatives are needed, but no one was able to suggest a method of "drafting" a representative that would be responsive. Very few churches have a bulletin board for Covenant Men announcements.

WEB PAGE: John Prouty was able to register the domain name of choice, "npccovenantmen.org". Cost will be $12 per year.  Jeff Mattson, of the South Lake Stevens Covenant Church, contacted Covenant Men after seeing our January news article that stated we were searching for a website and person to design and maintain our web site. He owns a web design company and is willing to host our web site at no cost. He had the site in operation within days of receiving our "rough" design from John Proudy.  Several board members have visited the site and copies of some pages were shown at the meeting.

NEXT MEETING: The next board meeting will be 9:30 AM, February 10, 2001 at Cascades Camp and Conference Center. The March meeting is tentatively scheduled for West Hills.
