Men Board Meeting Present: Kerm Paulsen, John Prouty, Jeff Wolf, Harold Ulfers and John Tissell The meeting opened with Jeff reading selected passages from the New Testament. Prayer was then offered by those present. FALL RETREAT DISCUSSION: The retreat will be one week earlier than we initially planned. Art Greco has another commitment for the earlier date. Don Davenport, Associate Director of Church Planting & Congregational Development was recommend as an alternate. Don has accepted. Kerm will be receiving bio and picture from Don for the brochure. It was strongly suggested that the brochures be available by the Conference Annual Meeting. We should attempt to distribute packages of brochures to the delegates from each church. A poster for each church was also discussed. The need to return the retreat to the first weekend in October was discussed. For reasons unknown, the retreat was moved back one week, starting in 2000. We need to discuss the need for more trail rides with the Camp. Most groups have two or more times for rides and we should determine the extra cost and who should pay; riders only or everyone? ALASKA: There has not been any word from Alaska on 2002 projects. There are obvious needs at the Alaska Christian College, MARK (Missionary Aviation Repair Center) and AEC (Amundsen Educational Center). All are located in Soldotna and can be reached by automobile from the lower 48. CONFERENCE ANNUAL MEETING: Kerm and John Tissell will be delegates representing Covenant Men. Jeff Wolf is an alternate delegate. The meeting will be in North Bend and the Denny's restaurant has been suggested as a possible location for the Men s breakfast. Kerm will check on this. CASCADES CAMP AND CONFERENCE CENTER: Cedar for the new picnic tables has been cut and is drying. Several week days will be used to precut material using "invited" volunteers. A big group will be needed on a scheduled (coordinated with Cascades) Saturday to do the final assembly. Covenant Men will also be building bunk beds. Again several volunteers will precut the material in preparation for a large work crew, on a Saturday, to do the assembly. Two changes from constructing bunks previously were suggested:
NEXT MEETING: The next board meeting will be Saturday February 23. The meeting will be at 9:00 AM to allow time after the meeting to start on the precutting of lumber for the bunk beds. The following tentative dates were set:
