Men Board Meeting Present: Kerm Paulsen, Keith Olson, Bud Olson, Harold Ulfers, Jeff Wolf, John Prouty and John Tissell The meeting opened with scripture from Luke 6 starting with verse 13. Prayer was then offered by those present. It was noted that Dick Lundberg was absent due his son Keith's serious illness and prayer was offered for Keith and the family. FINANCES: The checks noted as missing in the mail at the February board meeting were finally delivered by the postal service. There is currently $1030 for Village Ministries and $530 for the Amundsen Educational Center. Checks will be sent to each. FALL RETREAT DISCUSSION: John Prouty showed a draft of the retreat brochure. He is still waiting for some additional information from the speaker. Details were confirmed with Cascades. We will have two trail rides Saturday afternoon. Registration cost was set at $80.00 for Timberidge or log cabin and $70.00 for RV or tent. It was suggested that the prayer session be held in Timberidge rather than at one of the log cabins. The exact location is still under discussion since table games are planned for the balcony. Pop corn was well received last year and will be continued. Jeff Wolf will check to be certain that all supplies are on hand and train an operator for the pop corn machine. Basketball, volleyball, Frisbee golf and hiking will be available for the Saturday afternoon free time. CONFERENCE ANNUAL MEETING: Jeff Wolf will be the alternate delegate from Covenant Men. Kerm is coordinating the search for a speaker for the Men's breakfast with the conference ALASKA: Kerm and John will spend 10 days in April in Alaska. The first job will be wiring a parsonage in Galena and then going to Soldotna and to work on their first building at AEC (Amundsen Educational Center) and to determine what work will need volunteers next summer. They will also check for summer work at Alaska Christian College. CASCADES CAMP AND CONFERENCE CENTER: Prior to the meeting, the remaining (most were repaired earlier) picnic tables were checked and repaired as needed. Covenant Men need to seek pledges to complete our commitment to finance a log cabin. The cabin will be constructed in 2003, if the money needed has been received. The need is $10,000 which becomes 100 pledges of $100 each. It was mentioned that we should suggest teaming up with a friend if $100 is too much for an individual. The retreat brochure should include mention that the Men will be asking for pledges. NEXT MEETING: The next board meeting will be Saturday April 13 at Cascades Camp and Conference Center. Material for the picnic tables will be precut after the meeting. These additional dates have been tentative set:
