Men Board Meeting Attending: John Prouty, Jeff Wolf, Joe Geldmacher, Harold Ulfers and John Tissell. Jeff Wolf opened the meeting by leading devotions, from Proverbs 20. The agenda for the meeting was presented and approved. Minutes: The minutes from the meeting April 1 were approved. The minutes from the meeting September 17, 2005 are still missing. Reports: John Delong presented the financial secretaries report. Motion made, seconded and passed that it be approved. In the absence of the treasurer, no treasures report was presented. Cascades Camp and Conference Center: John Prouty reported that the Camp is selling the land north of the road to a conservation group. They will still have access for hiking and day use. The remainder of Ron Moss's air strip is for sale, but there are no serous lookers. They are attempting to buy one section of privately owned land on Elbow Lake and close the road to the Lake. This together with the closed state park would give the camp control of the entire lake. Projects: Jeff Wolf reported that he has not received an answer from the Camp on the style of the park benches. He asked that $350 dollars be transferred from the park bench fund to the portable barbecue fund. Moved, seconded and passed. The over under bunk beds are on hold. There was discussion on how to support the mattress. The lower bunk will be too wide for a single sheet of particle board. The bunk will require two templates because the will be a left and right end. A question was raised as to whether the kitchen needed a 6 burner stove. General Meeting: John Prouty reported on the annual meeting. There were no additional nominations so the preliminary ballot was elected. The change to the by-laws was approved. There was a good attendance at the meeting. Retreat: Jeff will work with Rob to clarify the offerings and the "mission moments". The offering to provide a tip to the kitchen staff will be taken at the brunch. Barbecue: The barbecue was discussed. The fish was dry last year due the high heat of the fire. More green Alder will be used to slow the fire. Substituting olive oil for part of the butter in the sauce was also discussed. The new barbecue pit will be ready in time for the barbecue. A layer of sand in the bottom will also make for a cooler fire. Next meeting: Will be July 9th (during the preparation of the barbecue) at Cascades Camp and Conference Center.
