Men Board Meeting Attending: John Prouty, Jeff Wolf, John Delong, Harold Ulfers, Dick Lundberg, Bud Olson, John Tissell and Rob Mohrweis representing Cascades Camp. The agenda for the meeting was presented and approved. Minutes: The minutes from the meeting November 11, 2006 were read and approved. Reports: John Delong presented the financial secretaries report. Motion made, seconded and passed that it be approved. In the absence of the treasurer, no treasures report was presented. Dick Lundberg noted that he is waiting for reimbursement for the retreat registration for Al Nelson (the representative from the Amundsen Educational Center) and John Delong noted that he is out of deposit slips and the bank will not let him order more since he is not an authorized signature for checks. Cascades Camp and Conference Center: Jeff Wolf has set tentative work days for the bunk beds as March 17, March 31, April 21 and May 5. The upper-under bunk will be built with a queen size mattress on the bottom. The timing of the placement of the axle under the barbecue is indefinite. Rob Mohrweis suggested Rev. Soon-Chan Rah as first choice for the fall retreat speaker. Email to John Prouty in the next two weeks if anyone has concerns with either man. Annual meeting: It will be at Cascades Camp and Conference Center April 27 and 28. The men's breakfast and the men's annual meeting will be at Brightwood Station the morning of the 28. More information on the breakfast will be in the delegate "package". Joe Ottley was suggested as speaker. John Prouty will be the delegate to the Conference Annual meeting with John Delong as alternate. At the May 12 board meeting one order of business will be what missions projects to present at the fall retreat. The need to publicize the volunteer work at Alaska Christian College, Amundsen Educational Center, Missionary Aviation Repair Center and KICY was discussed. It is a real problem since it means using vacation time, if you are still working, and getting the word out to those who are retired is a problem. Also noted was the expense of travel and partial or whole cost of food. Expenses associated with volunteer work are deductible on your income tax. Use of your personal automobile for volunteer work are $0.14 a mile for 2006. Next meeting: Will be in May 12 at West Hills Covenant Church. Other dates are July 3 (at the salmon barbecue) at Cascades Camp, September 8 at West Hills and November 10 at Cascades Camp. John Tissell, secretary |
