2003 Covenant Men Annual Report John Prouty, President The NPC Covenant Men organization is alive and well even though we sustained a major loss with the passing of our President Kerm Paulsen last spring. Kerm’s dedication to this ministry and strong work ethic became even more apparent when the board assumed the numerous and varied duties which he had so quietly and earnestly taken care of for the 14 years that he had been president. We give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for the time spent working alongside Kerm. In 2006 a log cabin will be dedicated in his memory at Cascades Camp & Conference Center, one of Kerm's favorite places. This past year Covenant Men awarded scholarships for the 2002-2003 school year to four North Pacific Conference seminary students attending North Park Seminary. Over the past 16 years, Covenant Men have made 67 grants to 45 students totaling $21,870. These scholarships are funded by pledges designated for scholarships that have been invested in National Covenant Properties. This investment now totals over $33,000. The scholarships are paid from the interest earned, with the surplus reinvested. We have continued to focus on improving the communication with our churches through the use of our website. The Fall Retreat continues to grow in quality and attendance. Covenant Men continue to pass on the tradition of the Salmon BBQ at Independence Day Family Camp to the next generation of men. Mission projects this year included:
Our focus for the coming year is to update the organization of Covenant Men for the 21st Century church and to look for ways to involve the next generation in leadership and ministry opportunities. Jeff Wolf, Recording Secretary |
